Mercedes-Benz Classic, the restoration arm of Mercedes, has reconstructed a streamlined race car from 1932. The SSKL will be showcased at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2019 as part of the event's "125 Years of Motorsport" theme. A 1938 Mercedes-Benz 320 n combination coupe (W 142) will also be shown.

Even car buffs often aren't aware of the Jaguar E-Type's special Low Drag Coupe model. The car was so rare that it's often overlooked in books and magazines in favor of the now-iconic E-Type roadster. But the Low Drag Coupe model is still fondly remembered and one was just fully remade. And it's beautiful.

The Rover Sport is a midsized SUV that's a bit smaller than the Discovery and a little larger than the Evoque. In its SVR format, it's also a muscle car inside in a luxury SUV package. This means you are couched in posh surroundings as you scream "OMG" laying rubber down the pavement.

The Ford F-150 is the best-selling pickup truck in America and has held that title for decades. The truck saw a refresh in 2017 and for the 2019 model year, it gains a new diesel engine plus the addition of a high-output engine to the Limited package. Ford has also added advanced safety equipment to all F-150 models as standard equipment. The 2019 Ford F-150 is a big, spacious, full-sized pickup truck that is offered in a myriad of trim levels with several engine options, cab and bed size options, and customization choices. The key changes mentioned above augment the F-150's considerable lineup. The 2019 F-150 has three cab style choices, three bed lengths for cargo, and six engine choices. Most of which are available as options in the six trim level choices for the F-150. It's a lot to choose from, but this level of configuration and optioning is a large part of what makes this Ford pickup truck so popular. There is almost assuredly an F-150 to match most any need.

Completely redesigned for 2019, the Santa Fe has a new look inside and out and now includes a two-row design without using the Sport model name. This marks the fourth generation for the Hyundai Santa Fe and it remains a choice abundant with features and quality for the price paid. The renaming of the Santa Fe may be confusing to some. The "Sport" title has been dropped altogether and the Santa Fe is now a two-row midsize crossover by default. The three-row model is now designated the XL. The two models are almost identical except for that third row addition in the XL and the slightly larger body dimensions that result. The new Santa Fe is much larger than the previous-generation Santa Fe Sport and more on par with the full-sized Santa Fe instead. Big improvements to the 2019 Santa Fe include a larger interior, more smartphone integration for infotainment, and lots of standard advanced safety technologies. There are a few downers too, like the anemic four-cylinder base engine and the large roof pillars impeding the driver's view. Still, in all, the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is a very well-made crossover with a lot of upsides. The Santa Fe comes in two model designations (Santa Fe and Santa Fe XL) and five trim levels (SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited, and Ultimate). There are two engine options and either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Vehicles in the luxury sport utility market are either very off-road capable or very comfortable on the road. One of the only model that offers the best of both worlds comes from Land Rover. The 2019 Land Rover Discovery is a big 3-row SUV that is comfortable to drive, extremely capable off the pavement, and highly posh. There are few reasons to dislike this vehicle.

The market for compact vehicles in the sedan segment is thinning as buyers look towards more versatility, but the argument for a well-executed small car can still be compelling. The Mazda3 has often set the tone on that front and this new iteration goes further, pushing back hard at crossovers in the process.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class was introduced in 2016 as the German automaker's entry into the luxury small crossover class. The GLC quickly set the standard for the segment, offering huge amounts of luxury, great looks, and solid driveability. The 2019 GLC comes with a lot of standard equipment, plenty of options beyond that, and lots of comfort. The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC comes in four basic flavors, each differentiated by a powertrain choice. There is the base model 300, the AMG-upgraded 43, the super-tuned AMG 63, and the plug-in hybrid 350e. Most of these iterations can be had in the standard or the slightly smaller Coupe model. The 2019 GLC-Class is a small luxury crossover that seats up to five. There are several packages and options for upgrade once a trim level (powertrain) has been chosen. In all but the base model, all-wheel drive ("4Matic") is standard.

Classic Volkswagens, like the Beetle and the Bus, are now iconic pieces of driving history throughout the world. Volkswagen wants to take that love a step further by adding an electrification option for restorers looking to bring new spark to their classic Beetle cars.

The end of summer is marked by the end of Little League Baseball. The final games are played in Williamsport, Pennsylvania at Little League headquarters. These finals, which draw more television spectators than most Major League games, are a grand finale for kids who’ve been playing ball all summer. Many of us have fond memories of playing Little League games in our neighborhoods and towns. We stuffed Big League Chew into our mouths, were incentivized by snow cones after the game, and played because we wanted to. The only pressure was to not look foolish in front of your friends for not paying attention to the game. There were Wendy Peppercorns, ridiculous parents “coaching” from the sidelines, and legitimate reasons to slide in the dirt without getting screamed at by our mothers for ruining our clothes.

The Toyota RAV4 is one of the original and most successful compact crossovers on the market, and for the 2019 model year it's undergone a complete redesign. This fifth-generation RAV4 is now more capable than before, and we didn’t let a couple of minor downsides keep us from having fun with it.

Audi has been carefully completing a quartet of electric vehicles, the last of which is the AI:Trail all-electric all-terrain vehicle. The four-seat concept is meant for sustainable mobility in rough terrain, and it covers all of the bases, including automated driving and focused off-road capability.

A new study from global market research group Ipsos has found that most people surveyed, upon buying a new car, want to drive it themselves – most are disinterested in automated driving technologies. In its Global Mobility Navigator Syndicated Study, the group surveyed over 20,000 new car buyers from 10 different countries.

The Chevrolet Colorado is a capable, comfortable midsized pickup truck. With the ZR2 package, it becomes a strong off-road machine and the only small truck with dual locking differentials. Chevrolet then teamed up with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) to add boron steel protection and gear to the Colorado ZR2 for this Bison package. It’s about as much hardcore off-road awesomeness as you can find. We had a blast with it!

When it comes to sports cars, there are few that engender the kind of enthusiasm or sense of purpose than the Toyota 86 and its Subaru twin, the BRZ. Few cars of this caliber have found the sweet spot of capability, affordability, and style. In the Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition, though, notches get taken up.

Hyundai, eager to explore commercial trucking opportunities in the US, has debuted a hydrogen-powered Class 8 heavy truck, the HDC-6 Neptune Concept, and a green-energy refrigerated trailer, the HT Nitro ThermoTech Concept. Both are being shown at the North American Commercial Vehicle (NACV) show.

When Chevrolet re-introduced the Blazer name last year, there followed a lot of use of the word "Camaro" in the hoopla. Chevy very much wanted to tie the Blazer in with the Camaro, style-wise, and has largely succeeded. The Blazer is a good-looking crossover, but a bit confusing as well.

The 2020 Range Rover Evoque is the smallest vehicle in the Range Rover sport utility lineup. It’s a bit larger than the average compact SUV, but its still smaller than most midsize offerings. And for some reason, it’s also available as a convertible, for those who want that sort of thing. Most of all, though, the 2020 Evoque is a luxurious SUV that’s big on driving refinement. For the second generation 2020 Evoque, Land Rover brings a fully redesigned Evoque with new technologies and expectations. Those changes help address a few of the shortcomings of last year’s model, which included hesitant shifting and unsophisticated infotainment. Thankfully, the new upgrades will keep the Evoque’s excellent off-road credibility, great engine, and beautiful cabin design.

Lexus has updated the RC 350 with refreshed styling, a retuned suspension, and smartphone integration. The excellent interior Lexus is known for remains, but the RC does have flaws – it's a beautiful car that could stand some improvement.

Hyundai is starting a ride hailing service called BotRide, which will debut in Irvine, California on November 4, 2019. The service, which uses speciall outfitted Hyundai Kona Electric vehicles will provide free ride-sharing in Irvine as part of a pilot program to test autonomous vehicles and ride hailing.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association show is held in Las Vegas annually, and this year Nissan is hitting SEMA with its own one-two combos. The automaker has four performance models on display, including an all-out time attack.

Maersk has teamed with Trident Maritime Systems to create a 600 kWh container battery that can be placed on a container-hauling ship to provide power. The battery is now en route to be installed on the Maersk Cape Town container vessel.
